Fabulous flamingo pink spring foliage is the hallmark of this flamboyant favourite. This is a tall and slender trunked deciduous tree with fantastic pink leaves that hold their colour for most of spring. Late in the season, the leaves turn cream, deepening to green in summer. In the autumn they turn cream/yellow again before they drop off. The young shoots and leaves are edible and in China, are widely used as a vegetable. This robust tree is excellent as a feature tree, or in a deciduous screen. It is ideal for narrow spaces. It can reach a height of five metres and width of two metres.
