Description The Object Permanence Box with Tray is a classic Montessori classroom material that is introduced when the baby can sit up independently, at approximately 8–12 months of age. As the ball is put through the hole at the top the baby learns the concept that when an object disappears from sight it could actually still be there, when he sees the ball reappears from the tray after running down the hole. Object permanence involves understanding that items and people still exist even when you can’t see or hear them. This concept was discovered by child psychologist Jean Piaget and is an important milestone in a baby’s brain development. It is also the first step the baby can start to form a secure attachment with their caregiver. Babies who understand that a person exists, even when they are not present, are better able to form secure attachments with caregivers. Dimensions: 30X16X13 cm Weight: 1.05 kg
