I didn’t get this set to ONLY use on ice. I got this set for punching holes in leather and other things.They arrived. I opened them and saw how sturdy they are. I immediately went about using them on some leather that I wanted to punch new holes into.They went through the belt lickety-split! Hubby can wear his belt now without his pants falling down because the belt was too big! lolI had some acrylic decorations I wanted perforated. I heated the tip of one up a bit and pushed it through the scrylic. Beautiful, clean hole.The handle being wood, if you wanted to use a hammer to pound the awl into something, the handle will withstand the pounding very nicely. They were made to last for years to come.Recommending this set to everyone. They are very well worth the price.MADE IN CHINA.
